Mongolia Secures Two Freestyle Wrestling Bronzes at Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics

Ulaanbaatar, November 25, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 25th Summer Deaflympics is taking place from November 15 to 26, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan.
In the men's 65 kg freestyle wrestling, Erkhembayar
Namdagdorj claimed a bronze medal, securing Mongolia’s first medal at the Tokyo
2025 Deaflympics. This marks his third Deaflympics podium finish, adding to the
silver he won in 2017 and the gold in 2022.
In the men’s 74 kg freestyle
event, Chinzorig Dorjdagva also earned a bronze medal, becoming the Mongolian
team’s second medalist at this year’s Games. This is his second Deaflympics
medal, following his silver from 2017.
The
11-day event has brought together more than 3,200 athletes from 81 countries, competing
across 21 sports disciplines. Mongolia is represented by 14 athletes in judo,
freestyle wrestling, table tennis, athletics, and shooting.
To date, Mongolian athletes have won two gold, six silver, and four bronze medals at previous editions of the Deaflympics.
