Alpine Skier Ariunbat Qualifies for Winter Olympics for the First Time

Ulaanbaatar, November 17, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Mongolia’s national alpine skier Ariunbat Altanzul has qualified for the Winter Olympic Games for the first time.
According to the Mongolian Ski Federation, Ariunbat met the qualification standard during a four-run international competition held at the indoor ski facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Athletes seeking entry to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games were required to achieve an average score below 120 across their best five runs. Ariunbat earned an average score of 108.18, officially securing his spot at the XXV Winter Olympic Games. With this achievement, Mongolia will send an athlete to compete in alpine skiing at the Olympics for the first time in its sporting history.
Thus, Mongolia has now secured three athlete slots for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Earlier, cross-country skiers Achbadrakh Batmunkh and Ariuntungalag Enkhbayar earned their Olympic qualifications, and Ariunbat’s result adds a third athlete to the national lineup.
Competing
under the guidance of national team coach S. Temuulen,
Ariunbat placed sixth and seventh in the four-run event. He earned 88.55
and 94.94
points in his best runs, bringing his five-run average to 108.18,
which met the Olympic qualification standard.
