Orgilbold Crowned World Champion Three Years in a Row

Ulaanbaatar, May 27, 2024 /MONTSAME/. An unparalleled display of strength and determination returned to the United States for the first time in ten years when the IPF World Open, Sub-Junior, Junior & Master Classic & Equipped Bench Press Championships came to Austin, the capital of the U.S. state of Texas, from May 21 to June 1, 2024.


In the Men's Open Classic 93kg weight class, Mongolian bench powerlifter Orgilbold Galdan earned a gold medal with a successful 227.5kg bench press.


Orgilbold etched his name in the history of Mongolian powerlifting as he became the first Mongolian to be crowned World Champion for the third consecutive year. He claimed gold medals at the World Bench Press Championships 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and the World Bench Press Championships 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa.


A total of 20 athletes from the Mongolian United Powerlifting Federation are competing in the World Championships 2024.
