Environment and livestock-friendly production systems have been gaining momentum on the cashmere markets in recent years. From practices that cause no harm on livestock animals to each and every stage of the production process, sustainable production has become key criteria. Mongolia is one of few countries that are engaged in livestock husbandry that ensures livestock animal welfare. Cashmere industry of Mongolia is of strategic significance with large amounts of reserves.

The Mongolian Noble Fibre certification mark will certify that  the product is made with 100 percent high quality wool and cashmere sourced from Mongolia, meets Mongolian and international standards for textiles and woven products, fully complies with quality standards in environmentally-friendly manufacturing. Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry is a holder of the certification mark, and authorized the Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association to promote the certification mark and issue it to producers.

We believe that the Mongolian Noble Fibre certification mark will play an important role to present Mongolian cashmere, yak fiber wool and camel wool and their benefits on the global markets. Since 2015, in the scope of our cooperation with the ADB’s technical assistance project Supporting Agriculture Value-added Chain, we have established a company of professional accreditation in the wool and cashmere industry and oversaw processing stages from raw material preparations to production in 15 companies. Among them, three Mongolian companies ‘Gobi’, ‘Jinst Murun’ and ‘Khanbogd’ have received the certification mark, fulfilling the requirements embodied in the mark. Financed by the ADB’s project, the Mongolian Noble Fibre certification mark is registered by Mongolia’s Intellectual Property Agency as well as intellectual property offices of more than 30 countries around the world.

During the forum, presentations were delivered on accreditation of Mongolian Noble Fibre products, business development of introducing Mongolian cashmere products on Japanese market and Mongolian Noble Fibre products and their production.
