President of Mongolia attends Eastern Economic Forum
President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga gave a speech at an Extended Session of the third Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) held in Vladivostok, Russia.
Danshig Naadam – Khuree Tsam 2017 held
The 2017 Danshig Naadam – Khuree Tsam religious & cultural festival was held at the central Stadium on August 5-6. During the opening ceremony, Soyombo banner was exalted, symbolizing the freedom and independence of the Mongolian people. Moreover, monks of the Gandantegchenling Monastery performed Mandala offering, prayer of Undur Gegeen Zanabazar and worshipping of Vajrapani religious rituals.
Election campaigns of presidential candidates launched
Campaigns for the upcoming Presidential election officially launched today. Candidates for the Presidential elections are current Parliament Speaker Mr M.Enkhbold, representing Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), former Member of Parliament Mr Kh.Battulga, representing Democratic Party (DP) and former Member of Parliament Mr S.Ganbaatar, representing Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP).

“Novosty Mongolii” weekly newspaper in Russian language, which is published by the Mongolian National News Agency MONTSAME reached the age of 75 this year. On the occasion of the anniversary, a meeting was held on May 3 at the MONTSAME Agency building with attendance I.N.Arzhaev, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Russia in Ulaanbaatar, B.Galaarid, President of the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, M.Otgonbayar, Head of the Ulaanbaatar city administration and other officials.
Presidential candidate nomination begins today
Nomination of candidates for the upcoming Presidential Election of June 26 begins today, May 2 to continue until May 6, in compliance with the Law of Mongolia on Election. The law states that the nomination of presidential candidates must begin 55 days prior to election day. Parties and coalitions eligible to nominate a candidate for the Presidential Election must submit the necessary documents and files of their candidate to General Election Commission in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
