At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Gankhuyag highlighted that the Year 2025 has been a significant milestone in the history of Mongolia–Japan relations, citing the State Visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan to Mongolia at the invitation of President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa.

The Deputy PM expressed appreciation for the decision of the Japanese Government to resume its concessional yen loans within the framework of Official Development Assistance to support efforts to expand the capacity of the Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Mongolia. Expressing appreciation for the fact that the two countries are collaborating at the regional and international levels within the framework of their shared goals of peace and prosperity, Minister Motegi emphasized Japan’s commitment to further strengthening the legal environment for bilateral cooperation, expanding cooperation in education, culture and inter-territorial relations, and further promoting people-to-people ties, which is the “cornerstone” of friendly relations.

Reaffirming their mutual commitment to expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, the two sides exchanged views on strengthening collaboration to improve Mongolia’s infrastructure, develop human resources, enhance disaster-response preparedness, and improve resilience to natural disasters and earthquakes.

The sides welcomed the successful conclusion of the 12th Consultative Meeting of Mongolian–Japanese Public and Private Sectors, held in Tokyo, and expressed their readiness to collaborate for organizing the next meeting in Ulaanbaatar.
