Ulaanbaatar, October 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Caritas Czech Republic, an international non-governmental organization that has operated in Mongolia for 20 years, has handed over 503 physical and 1,350 digital documents containing the results of its projects to the General Authority for Archives of Mongolia.

Headquartered in Prague, the Czech Republic, the organization provides humanitarian aid and development assistance through over 300 branches across Europe and representative offices in seven countries worldwide. Over the past two decades, it has implemented 21 projects in Mongolia in areas such as education, human rights, social protection, humanitarian assistance, agriculture, environment, and green economy.

Administrative & Finance Officer of Caritas Czech Republic in Mongolia, Dejidmaa Javzansuren, said, “In recent years, we have focused on addressing environmental and climate challenges through EU-funded projects such as ‘Sustainable Plastic Recycling in Mongolia’ (SPRIM) and ‘Green Economic Transition’ (GET). Mongolia has adopted its first national standard for plastic recycling, and a model waste management system was established in Khishig-Undur soum of Bulgan aimag. In Ulaanbaatar and the aimags of Selenge, Darkhan, Erdenet, Khuvsgul, Dornod, and Uvs, we have trained more than 1,000 entrepreneurs in green production and carried out a major public awareness campaign to promote behavioral change.”

The Head of the Political Parties and Civil Organizations Archives Division at the General Authority for Archives, S. Shijirbaatar, said, “Caritas Czech Republic has made tangible contributions to Mongolia’s development in various sectors. In accordance with Article 28.8 of the Law on Archival Affairs, the organization established archival collection No. 180 to preserve its documents. Citizens and researchers can officially request access to studies and reports produced under these projects through the General Authority for Archives.”

Caritas Czech Republic began its activities in Mongolia with its first social protection project in 2006 and opened its official representative office in 2008. The organization has now officially concluded its operations in Mongolia.
