Mongolia, Chile Hold Third Political Consultations

Ulaanbaatar, October 7, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Third Round of Political Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile was held in Santiago on October 3, 2025.


During the meeting, the sides reviewed the achievements of more than 50 years of relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Chile and reaffirmed their commitment to enriching bilateral relations with substantive economic content. They emphasized the importance of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as mining, agriculture, renewable energy, environmental protection, and education, as well as strengthening the legal framework governing bilateral relations.


In this context, the sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation with Chile’s export promotion agency “ProChile,” expanding ties between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, and exploring possibilities for cooperation with Chile’s state-owned company “Codelco” in the mining sector.


The consultations were co-chaired by Director-General of the Department of the Americas, the Middle East, and the Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Anand Amgalan, and Secretary-General for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile, Rodrigo Olsen Olivares, the MOFA reported.
