Tourism Sector Between Mongolia and South Korea Highlighted for Rapid Growth

Ulaanbaatar, August 22, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Member of Parliament and Head of the Standing Committee on Justice Tsogtbaatar Damdin received First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Park Yoonjoo on August 21, 2025.
Marking the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, MP Tsogtbaatar noted that as of 2024, the number of mutual visits between the citizens of the two countries had reached 363,000. MP Tsogtbaatar emphasized that the Republic of Korea is a key partner for Mongolia in Southeast Asia and that the two countries maintain a Strategic Partnership. He further underlined the rapid development of tourism between the two nations.
First Vice Minister Park Yoonjoo commended the high representation of women in the Parliament of Mongolia, noting it as a strong indicator of democratic consolidation. First Vice Minister expressed satisfaction that the two countries, being geographically close, share a strong mutual understanding and close people-to-people relations.
At the end of the meeting, MP Tsogtbaatar underlined that Mongolia is working to improve the legal environment for foreign investment, and emphasized that there are many valuable practices Mongolia can learn from the Republic of Korea in this regard.
