Mongolia-Bhutan Relations and Cooperation Expand

Ulaanbaatar, August 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Member of Parliament and Deputy Head of the Mongolia-Bhutan Parliamentary Group, Bayarbaatar Bayarmagnai, along with other Group Members, received representatives of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan on August 7, 2025.
According to the Media and Publications Department of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia, His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, King of Bhutan, paid a State Visit to Mongolia in July 2024 at the invitation of the President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa. Within the framework of the State Visit, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in five sectors, namely culture, education, agriculture, traditional medicine, and media. Deputy Head of the Mongolia-Bhutan Parliamentary Group Batbaatar Bat expressed gratitude that the relations and cooperation between the Governments and sectors of the two countries have been successfully implemented since representatives of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan visited Mongolia in April 2025, and that the meetings had been fruitful. The Deputy Head of the Group introduced legal reforms, policies, and operations currently implemented by the Parliament of Mongolia, noting the importance of studying and localizing best practices within legislative bodies.
The representatives of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Bhutan extended their appreciation for the warm welcome, expressing pleasure that relations and cooperation between the two countries, which share common historical, cultural, and religious values, are further strengthening. Additionally, the Kingdom of Bhutan shared its policies, parliamentary structure, and operations as the leading country in the world in terms of the happiness index. The two sides exchanged views and their respective positions.
Members of the Mongolia-Bhutan Parliamentary Group, Erdenebold S, Ganbaatar A, and Saranchuluun O, as well as the Head of the Bhutan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Kuenga, along with Group Members Rinchen Wangdi, Namgay Wangchuk, Kuenzang Thinley, and Yangchen Lhamo, participated in the meeting, sharing views on bilateral relations and cooperation.
While Member of Parliament Tsenguun Saruulsaikhan works as the Head of the Mongolia-Bhutan Parliamentary Group, Members of Parliament Bayarbaatar Bayarmagnai and Lodoisambuu Chuluunbileg work as Deputy Heads of the Group. Members of the Parliamentary Group comprise Members of Parliament Ganbaatar Amgalanbaatar, Saranchuluun Otgon, Tuvaan Tsevegdorj, Tulga Buya, Erdenebold Sukhbaatar, and Erdeneburen Ravjikh.
