Discussion takes place on impact of external factors on Mongolia’s economy

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On February 28, the Business Council of Mongolia (BCM) organized its monthly meeting under the theme, ‘Economic Prospects of Mongolia and External Factors’, discussing the current state of the domestic and international economy. The council’s monthly meeting aims to provide businesses with information on the current economic situation and prospects, and the impact of external factors to support them in planning their future activities.


Chairman of the Business Council of Mongolia Ts.Tumentsogt noted that studies and research must be thoroughly carried out in order to ensure stable economic growth, and highlighted the importance of taking external factors into account.


During the meeting, discussions took place on the present state of the country’s economy, the banking and financing sector, and its outlook as well as the impact of external factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and expected international measures, and current global political and geopolitical issues. 


At the event, Head of the Department of Economic Security at the Institute of Strategic Studies N.Enkhbayar also provided a presentation on the current socio-economic situation in Russia and the changes being made in the global financial market.

About 300 participants attended the BCM’s meeting both online and in-person.
