Judo athlete N.Altantsetseg finishes 5th at Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 29, Mongolian judo athlete N.Altantsetseg stepped onto the mat for her matches in the women’s +70 kg weight class at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. In the first round, she was matched against Zarina Baibatina of Kazakhstan, and was defeated by ippon at 0:54.
In the next match, Altantsetseg faced off against Katie Davis of the U.S. for the repechage stage. She came out with a decisive victory by ippon at 13 seconds into the match, qualifying for the bronze medal match.
For the bronze medal, she was matched against Meg Emmerich of Brazil. Following the referee’s decision to give both athletes a penalty for non-combativity, Altantsetseg was defeated by ippon at 1:22. With this, she finished her run in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, finishing in 5th place.
