Saeid Mollaei grabs bronze from Asia-Oceania Senior Championships

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Asia-Oceania Senior Championships 2021 is currently taking place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from April 6 to 9. On the second day of the tournament on April 7, Iranian-born Mongolian judoka Saeid Mollaei won the bronze medal in the men’s 81 kg weight class.
As the sole athlete representing Mongolia in the tournament, he defeated Iranian judoka Amin Kamyabi with an ippon at 1:05 minutes in Round 2, following a first-round bye.
Despite winning against Tajikistan’s Akmal Murodov with another ippon at 2:32 minutes, he was defeated by Kyrgyzstan’s Vladimir Zoloev through waza-ari.
In his bronze medal match, he faced off against Kazakhstan’s Didar Kamza, coming out victorious with waza-ari in overtime. This is his 4th medal being grabbed from continental championships.
In the men’s 81 kg weight class, Kyrgyzstan’s Vladimir Zoloev came out as champion, with silver being taken by South Korea’s Lee Moon Jin winning silver, and bronze medals by Uzbekistan’s Sharofiddin Boltaboev and Mongolian judoka Saeid Mollaei.
