Harvested potatoes increase by 26.5 percent from last year

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The harvesting report showed that as
of November 1, 393.9 thousand tonnes of cereals, 239.3 thousand tonnes of
potatoes and 111.9 thousand tonnes of vegetables were harvested, and 968.9
thousand tonnes of hay, 30.6 thousand tonnes of handmade fodder and 3.2
thousand tonnes of silage crops were prepared.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, the
harvested potatoes rose by 50.1 thousand tonnes or 26.5%. The harvested
vegetables increased by 20.8 thousand tonnes or 22.8%. In contrast, hay harvest
decreased by 161.5 thousand tonnes or 14.3%, handmade fodder -- by 9.0 thousand
tonnes or 22.7%, harvested cereals -- by 3.3 thousand tonnes or 0.8%, and
silage crops -- by 2.1 thousand tonnes or 39.6%, respectively.
As of November 1, Selenge, Tuv, Bulgan, Dornod, and Khuvsgul
aimags harvested 5.7-41.9% of total harvested cereals, Tuv and Selenge aimags
harvested 13.6-63.5% of potatoes, while Selenge, Tuv, Darkhan-Uul and Khovd
aimags harvested 10.7-29.1% of vegetables.
Harvested cereals increased by 93.6 tonnes to 32.0 thousand
tonnes or 16.8 percent to 3.4 times in Gobi-Altai, Zavkhan, Orkhon, Sukhbaatar,
Dornod, Khentii, Darkhan-Uul and Selenge aimags whereas it decreased by 0.3
tonnes to 25.4 thousand tonnes or 4.7-59.3 percent in other aimags.
Harvested potatoes decreased by 12.0 tonnes to 937.0 tonnes
or 2.7-26.5 percent in Umnugobi, Zavkhan, Uvurkhangai, Khovd, Arkhangai, and
Selenge aimags. In contrast, it increased by 2.3 tonnes to 47.7 thousand tonnes
or 2.7-45.7 percent in other aimags.
Harvested vegetables decreased by 29.0 tonnes to 152.5 thousand
tonnes or 0.7-13.4 percent in Dornogobi, Ulaanbaatar city, Bayankhongor,
Zavkhan and Arkhangai whereas it increased by 1.7 tonnes to 9.4 thousand tonnes
or 0.1-75.1 percent in other aimags.
Hay harvest increased by 148.5 tonnes to 12.1 thousand tonnes
or 1.8-71.1 percent in Orkhon, Gobisumber, Ulaanbaatar city, Selenge,
Dornogobi, Bulgan, Dornod and Darkhan-Uul aimags, whereas it decreased by
0.3-80.0 thousand tonnes or 2.2-86.5 percent in other aimags.
