N.Tugstsogt gets first defeat at his 12th professional bout

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Mongolian professional boxer Tugstsogt Nyambayar (11-0, 9 KO) had a fight on February 9 with WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr. at PPL Center in Allentown, Pensylvania, but was defeated for the first time with 115:113 scores.
A 27-year old ‘King Tug’ N.Tugstsogt only had 11 professional bouts before his meeting with Russell. He became the mandatory challenger for Russell’s title by defeating Dominican contender Claudio Marrero by unanimous decision in their 12-round WBC elimination match in January 2019. Before his fight with Russell, he has not fought since January 2019.
Defeating his Mongolian contender and former Olympic silver medalist, an experienced boxer Gary Russell Jr. (30-1, 18 KO) defended his title.
