Mongolian 3x3 basketball team wins Asian cup

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s basketball team triumphed over the People’s Republic of China by 17:14 at the 3rd Asian University 3x3 Basketball Championship to claim a gold medal in men’s category.
The competition took place on April 12-16 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia simultaneously with Asian University Archery Championship.
To make it to the semi-finals, team Mongolia won Malaysia by 19:18, the Philippines by 21:14, Iran by 21:15 and Indonesia by 17:15. In the semi-finals, the team was matched against Thailand to defeat by 18:11, thus reaching the finals to play against the Chinese team.
Thus, the gold medal opens a new page in Mongolian basketball as well as team sport scenario.
