Target archery range opens with crowdfunding视频
The ‘360’ target archery range that meets international standards opened at the National Garden Park on August 1.
In his opening remarks President of the Mongolian Archery Association P.Tsagaan noted that the archery range with 32 targets with possibility to shoot at up to 90 meters, sheds for outdoor training in summer, spring and autumn is ecologically-oriented. The range was built in 60 days with efforts of archers, assistance and donations from about 1000 supporters, without any financing from the state budget. “On the occasion of the 58th anniversary, with support of the people Mongolian archers fulfilled their dream to have archery range, where any international competition could be held,” he said.
President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga, Parliament members, Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar, Chairman of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of the capital city S.Amarsaikhan, Paralympic champion, Hero of Labor of Mongolia D.Baatarjav and other people attended the opening ceremony.
At the ending of the ceremony 56 archers from the national team and professional clubs shot three arrows each. The new archery range is named ‘360’ meaning ‘Courage- endurance field’. In target archery total possible score is 360, which is obtained with 36 arrows with 10 points each. Thus, the name is auspicious symbol for Mongolian archers to get 360 points in the future.
Moreover, the largest Olympic rings with the size of 27 meters by 13 meters, which could be registered in Guinness World Records, is being erected at the archery range, which symbolizes the success of Mongolian athletes in Olympic archery events.
