视频Mongolian basketball team wins Asian championship
Mongolian basketball team won the title of the Asian champion in the Asian University Men’s Basketball Championship hosted in Mongolia last week.
The silver and bronze medals were gained by the Chinese Taipei and Chinese teams. This is the third Asian University Championship, Mongolia has hosted at home. Prior to this, these were Asian Ping Pong Championship of 2008 and Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship of 2012.
“Ulaanbaatar” movie festival
Ulaanbaatar International movie festival will be held on October 11-14 in the capital city of Mongolia. The upcoming event is aimed to boost international cooperation in cinematography and deliver art house action genre to the Mongolia public. The event is to be co-organized by the Mongolian Arts Council and the French Embassy in Mongolia for the 8th year. During the festival, the world-acclaimed 10 movies of UK, Afghanistan, Germany, France, Poland, South Korea and Chinese Taipei will be screened.
Name of Chinggis Khaan won’t be “trashed”
A national campaign has been initiated to prohibit using the name of Chinggis Khaan on alcoholic beverages and other disposable stuffs. In connection with this, the foundation which is called “the Statehood and Khaans’ has sent a letter to the President of Mongolia. Naming alcoholic beverages after Chinggis Khaan is taken as a disrespect towards the history and Great Khaan and on the other hand towards the tradition and national values.
Eco leather is produced
A crew of the Institute of Light Industry Study and Development of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology has commenced producing eco leather by processing sheep, goat and cattle hides. The main secret of the label of eco is the organic substances used for processing the raw material. The nature-sound technology helps develop green production.
