At the night from September 23 to September 24, Mongolia will turn its clocks one hour back to practice the daylight saving time (DST) for the coming winter, in accordance with the government decision.

Mongolia used the summer and winter time DSTs since 1960 until 1999, when the tradition was abolished to maintain the summertime all year round. It was restored in 2001 and cancelled again in 2005.

The Government brought back the time changing method last March in regard of its benefit of saving energy.

With the DST in practice, people will not have to get up for work or children go to school in complete darkness during the winter.
