Total equilibrated balance shows a deficit of MNT1.6 trillion
According to the preliminary results in the first five months of 2020, the total revenue of the general government budget amounted to MNT 3.6 trillion, MNT 3.3 trillion of which accounted for equilibrated revenue. Total equilibrated revenue was 93.8% of the general government budget revenue.

Industrial production in statistics
According to the preliminary results, the gross industrial output reached MNT 5.1 trillion in the first 5 months of 2020, showing a decrease of MNT 1.9 trillion (27.3%) from the same period of previous year.

Non-performing loans in banking system amounted to MNT 1.9 trillion
At the end of May 2020, the total amount of outstanding loan to entities and individuals amounted to MNT 17.2 trillion, increased by MNT 16.6 billion (0.1%) from the previous month, but decreased by MNT 795.6 billion (4.4%) compared to the same period of the previous year. Of the total outstanding loans, 51.2 percent or MNT 8.8 trillion were individual loans.

Banks defer repayments on MNT 500 billion of mortgage loans
With a view to alleviate financial challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic on business entities and individuals, the government of Mongolia together with the Bank of Mongolia and commercial banks has approved decisions to make 6-month deferrals on consumer and business loan repayment and their interests for 90 days, and to extend the repayment of mortgage loans by six months.

As of the first five months of 2020, securities worth of MNT 16.3 billion were traded at the national stock market, showing a decrease of MNT 70.2 billion (81.1%) compared to the same period of the previous year.

The national currency in circulation reached MNT 974.1 billion at the end of May 2020, showing an increase of MNT 115.6 billion (13.5%) from the previous month and an increase of MNT 34.4 billion (3.7%) from the same period of the previous year.

BoM to conclude contract with banks to finance gold sector
The Bank of Mongolia (BoM) is preparing to provide soft financing to gold mining companies. With implementation of the program,  23 tons of gold is estimated to be mined or to increase official foreign exchange reserves by USD 1.2 billion at current value.

Revenue from railway transport increased by 6.4 percent
 In the first five months of 2020, 709.8 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by railway transport. The number of carried passengers decreased by 266.5 thousand (27.3%) compared to the same period of the previous year. In May 2020, the number of passengers reached 157.1 (double counting) thousand passengers and increased by 49.3 thousand (45.7%) against to the previous month.
