Zandanbat - Mongolia's Sole Medalist at the U17 Asian Championships

Ulaanbaatar, June 15, 2023 /MONTSAME/. In the U17 Asian Championships held in Bishkek on June 10-13, 2023, Freestyle Wrestler Zandanbat Batsaikhan from Mongolia secured the bronze medal in the Greco 60 kg category.
B. Zandanbat began his campaign by defeating Al Haideri Abdulazeez Qusay A from Iraq with a victory by points (VPO), 6-0. In the quarterfinals, he faced Kyuden Kotetsu from Japan and emerged victorious by VSU1, 11-1. However, in the semifinals, Zandanbat suffered a loss to Pirdayeh Sajad Gholamhassan from Iran by VPO1, 8-4.
Despite the setback, Zandanbat showed his resilience in the bout for the bronze medal, where he faced Jumaboev Shamsiddin from Uzbekistan. Zandanbat dominated the match and secured victory by superiority, with a convincing score of 11-0.
With this achievement, Zandanbat Batsaikhan became the sole wrestler from Mongolia to claim a medal at the 2023 Bishkek U17 Asian Championships.
