Art & Culture
Ulaanbaatar, December 5, 2025 /MONTSAME/. As part of the events marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the United Mexican States, a “Khuree Tsam – 108” exhibition by Cultural Envoy of Mongolia, Artist Gankhuyag Natsag, opened last week at the National Museum of World Cultures in Mexico City.
Organized with support of the Embassy of Mongolia in the United States and the Honorary Consulate of Mongolia in Mexico, the exhibition aims to introduce the philosophy of Buddhism, the symbolism embodied in Tsam masks, and the unique cultural and artistic heritage of Mongolia, while also contributing to greater mutual understanding between the peoples of Mongolia and Mexico.

Artist Gankhuyag began crafting Tsam masks more than thirty years ago. In 2007, he completed the creation of the full set of 108 masks and costumes representing the deities of the Tsam dance, which he then presented to the public. Since then, he has continued to promote Mongolian Tsam not only in his own country but also abroad.
