Ulaanbaatar, November 11, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 50th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group is underway in Geneva, the Swiss Confederation, from November 3 to 14, 2025. During this session, the human rights record of 14 States is scheduled to be examined.

The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a unique peer-review process established in 2006, requiring each Member State to undergo a comprehensive human rights review every four and a half years. The UPR Working Group comprises all 47 members of the Human Rights Council, as well as other UN Member or Observer States that choose to participate.

The States scheduled to be reviewed during this 50th session, in order of appearance, are: Belarus, Liberia, Malawi, Mongolia, Panama, the Maldives, Adnorra, Bulgaria, Honduras, the United States of America, the Marshall Islands, Croatia, Jamaica, and Libya. This marks the fourth UPR cycle for each of these countries.

The Government of Mongolia is represented at the session by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Gerelmaa Davaasuren, Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, along with other members of the Mongolian delegation. Mongolia contributed to the review discussion of Bulgaria, Belarus, and Croatia, delivering official statements.

On November 3, 2025, Mongolia presented and discussed its fourth national report on the human rights situation.
