Social Insurance Fund Revenue Increases by MNT 666.4 Billion

Ulaanbaatar, October 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The revenue of Mongolia’s Social Insurance Fund reached MNT 4.85 trillion in the first nine months of 2025, an increase of MNT 666.4 billion compared to the same period of 2024, according to the National Statistics Office of Mongolia.


The fund’s total expenditure amounted to MNT 4.38 trillion, up by MNT 620 billion year-on-year.


A total of MNT 4.02 trillion in pension insurance benefits was paid to 520,400 beneficiaries, representing 12,600 more recipients and an additional MNT 541.5 billion in disbursements compared to the same period of the previous year.


Of these pensioners, 79.6 percent are old-age pensioners, 12.1 percent are persons with disabilities, 4 percent are survivors’ pensions, and 4.3 percent are military pensioners.


The social insurance fund for benefits paid MNT 359.9 billion to 145,900 people, marking an increase of 9,600 beneficiaries and MNT 76.1 billion in payments compared to 2024.


In the first nine months of this year, MNT 164.5 billion in maternity and childbirth benefits were granted to 39,700 recipients, an increase of 1,700 people and MNT 30.3 billion compared to the same period of 2024.


Meanwhile, 2.4 million citizens received MNT 1.83 trillion in social welfare services in the first nine months of 2025. This represents a decrease of 101,400 beneficiaries, although the total amount of welfare payments rose by MNT 101.1 billion year-on-year.

Of the total social welfare coverage:

  • 55.2 percent went to child benefits,
  • 8.5 percent to allowances for mothers and single parents with multiple children,
  • 6.2 percent to social welfare pensions,
  • 3.5 percent to social welfare and development services,
  • 2.5 percent to pensions,
  • 24.1 percent to other services.
