MNOC to Expand Cooperation with Special Olympics Committee

Ulaanbaatar, October 6, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC), Battushig Batbold, received a delegation led by the President of the Special Olympics Committee, Oyun Sanjaasuren, at the Olympic House.
The MNOC and the Special Olympics Committee have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation. During the meeting, the parties highlighted the significance of increasing opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities for active participation in sports and society, noting the necessity of cooperating with sports federations to develop these athletes at a professional level.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged regarding the possibility, potential sports disciplines, and timelines for organizing a Special Olympics “Regional and World Championships” in Mongolia.
Furthermore, the
sides expressed mutual interest in cooperating to support and implement
environmentally friendly initiatives within the framework of the IOC’s Olympic
Movement policy and the joint UN Sustainable Development and Green Development
policies.
