Mongolia–Canada Comprehensive Partnership Expands with New Content

Ulaanbaatar, August 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia, Amarbaysgalan Dashzegve has held an official meeting with Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Canada Raymonde Gagné.
At the outset of the meeting, Chairman Amarbaysgalan noted that the
Comprehensive Partnership between Mongolia and Canada is intensifying and expanding
with new content. Chairman Amarbaysgalan highlighted that the 126-member
parliament is initiating a number of legislative reforms aimed at ensuring
stable economic growth, supporting foreign investment, improving the legal
environment, and diversifying the economy. The Chairman also underscored
Mongolia’s commitment to gender equality, noting that 32 women were elected in
the 2024 Mongolian parliamentary elections. Mr. Amarbaysgalan emphasized that
the adoption of a mixed electoral system has enabled broader multiparty
representation in the State Great Khural.

Raymonde Gagné commended Mongolia’s progress in adopting a mixed electoral
system, which has contributed to greater gender equality and more diverse parliamentary
composition.
The two sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in the mining and investment sectors and agreed that strengthening collaboration in these areas would further advance bilateral relations and cooperation.
