“Mongol-B” Team Wins Gold Medal at the World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships

Ulaanbaatar, June 16, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships 2025 took place in London, England on June 10-16, 2025.
The seven-day tournament brought together 420 players from
52 teams representing 64 countries. Three teams from Mongolia competed against the
world’s best chess players. The event featured 123 Grandmasters, 67
International Masters, 65 FIDE Masters, and 24 Candidate Masters.
For the first time, Mongolia fielded three teams in such a
prestigious competition. The national team “Mongolia-B” won the gold medal in
the blitz section in the under-2400 rating category. This team consists
of Grandmasters B. Munguntuul and S. Bilguun, International Master S.
Gan-Erdene, FIDE Master N. Sodbilegt, Candidate Master B. Mungunzul, and G.
Enkhbayar. They finished 20th in the rapid section.
Another Mongolian team, “Mongol Z,” composed of Grandmaster
D. Nomin-Erdene, International Masters Kh. Itgelt and Retvars Reimanis, FIDE
Masters S. Chingun, B. Anu, Kh. Ulziikhishig, and Christian Araya placed 21st
in the rapid section.
The national team “Mongolia A,” composed of International Masters G. Amartuvshin and M. Amilal, Grandmasters U. Uuriintuya and T. Munkhzul, FIDE Masters S. Chingun, and D. Amarbat, finished 24th.
