Foreign Minister Battsetseg Receives Representatives from Japanese International Friendship Exchange Council

Ulaanbaatar, May 3, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh received the delegation led by Yasuhisa Fukuda, Chairman of the Japan-Mongolia Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee of the International Friendship Exchange Council of Japan, on May 1, 2024. 


At the meeting, Foreign Minister Battsetseg expressed gratitude to the Japan-Mongolia Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee of the International Friendship Exchange Council /FEC/ for strengthening the relations between Mongolia and Japan, deepening people-to-people ties, and supporting the operations of businesses and enterprises. The Foreign Minister expressed confidence that the FEC would continue solid contributions towards Mongolia-Japan's “Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity. 


The Japanese side expressed commitment to actively work to foster the two people’s solidarity and friendship, increase exchange, implement widescale workshops and seminars in education and human resources, support the beneficial operations of business and enterprise, and expand trade and investment. 


The two sides noted that 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Cultural Agreement between Mongolia and Japan and discussed close cooperation to develop “human-centric” relations in all avenues. 


The International Friendship Exchange Council is a nonprofit organization established in 1983 to contribute to world peace and prosperity by improving Japanese relations with foreign countries, particularly with Asian countries, and strengthening ties between people and the private sector. The FEC Japan-Mongolia Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee was established in 2009 to enhance the two countries' cooperation in economy and education by conducting joint research and holding events and conferences.
