Currency Hall opens at BoM Treasury Department

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A currency exhibition hall has been established at the Treasury Department of the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) in honor of the Bank Workers’ Day to make BoM’s operations more transparent and open to public and improve the public’s financial education.
The Currency Hall houses rare and historically significant items such as ancient coins, mediums of exchange that were in use in Mongolia in the past, banknotes, coins, and commemorative coins. Specifically, a 20 kg tea, coins, and other mediums of exchange that were in circulation since the Manchu period and 1926 are on display.
The hall of the history of the national currency of Mongolia uses a holographic docent and other advanced technology to provide information in a more fun and organized manner. It will open to the public after the pandemic declines.
