Documents on cooperation between Mongolia and Russia signed

Mongolian Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh, just after arriving in the Russian Federation yesterday, held official talks with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in the White House.

Following the official talks that lasted for about an hour, the Premiers witnessed a ceremony of signing official documents of cooperation.

Following the talks, a signing ceremony of 12 agreements on bilateral cooperation between Mongolia and Russia took place, with following documents signed: 

Intergovernmental agreement on electrical energy cooperation,

Plan of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Russia for 2020–2022,

Agreement between Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia and Ministry of Transport of Russia on training Mongolian citizens in railway specialties,

Memorandum of Cooperation between Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia,

Memorandum of Understanding on realization of cooperation between Trade and Development Bank of Mongolia and Russian Export Center,

Agreement on cooperation between Mongolia’s Erdenet Mining Corporation and Russia’s Zarubezhgeologiya JSC in the field of geology-geophysical and engineering-geological research areas,

Agreement between Ulaanbaatar Railways joint venture and Russian RZD International LLC on the provision of technical consulting services for the implementation of the contract on the construction of the Tavan-Tolgoi-Zuunbayan railway,

Memorandum on strategic partnership between Mongolia’s Erdenes Mongol LLC and Russia’s UZTM – KARTEX LLC,

Memorandum on cooperation in supply and sales of leather and hides between Agricultural Exchange of Mongolia state owned company and Russkaya Koja, union of tanneries of Russia, and gave a press briefing.

Prime Minister of the Russian Federation D.A.Medvedev:There is a lot of work to be done to develop bilateral relations. Reforms in investment were discussed with the Mongolian Prime Minister. We also discussed Ulaanbaatar Railways joint venture as it is the leading sector of our relations. Based on the company, we can further discuss a new transport corridor, which will increase the trade turnover of our region. We have full potential to execute these works. All that we need is some effort.

Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh: I express my gratitude to the Russian Federation for supporting the matter of having the natural gas pipeline connecting Russia and China pass through the territory of Mongolia, discussed in the framework of the Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor Program I see the study for the project starts with joint implementation.  Furthermore, we have expressed again our interest to establish free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union and I am confident that the Russian Federation will support us for it.”
