Parliament Speaker G.Zandanshatar meets Russian President Vladimir Putin

Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament G.Zandanshatar paid a courtesy call on President of Russia Vladimir Putin during his official visit to Mongolia at the invitation of President Kh.Battulga.
At the start of the meeting, Parliament Speaker G.Zandanshatar expressed his pleasure in meeting the President of Russia in the framework of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkhin Gol Battles. Expressing his gratitude as well in response, H.E. Vladimir Putin noted that the Victory of the Khalkhin Gol Battles is a reflection of the friendship between the two countries, and highlighted that the historic ties will continue to be valuable for the peoples of Mongolia and Russia.
The Speaker then expressed his gratitude toward the Mongolian and Russian relations having elevated to a new level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the visit.
Noting that joint large-scale projects have not been implemented for the last several decades, Speaker G.Zandanshatar put forward a request to the Russian side to finalize the issue of granting RUB100 billion soft loan to Mongolia to launch the redevelopment project of the infrastructure of the Ulaanbaatar Railways Mongolian-Russian joint venture and modernize its technologies.
The Parliament Speaker then thanked the Government of Russia and the Russian Rosneft Oil Company for their support for the redevelopment project of the Khalkhgol soum of Mongolia.
In turn, President of Russia Vladimir Putin highlighted that the signing of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will give a significant influence on the relations between the two countries and further partnership.
“Supporting agriculture and mining exports of Mongolia, modernization of the Ulaanbaatar Railways and mutually-beneficial humanitarian collaboration are of high level of importance” he added.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Gordeyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia Iskander Azizov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Tsogtbaatar, Deputy Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan, Head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy, MP T.Ayursaikhan as well as MPs J.Munkhbat and D.Erdenebat and other officials.
