Film depicting Mongolian way of life to be released

Having previously won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature from the Calgary International Film Festival in 2016, the Burn Your Maps film depicting the Mongolian way of life is to be released on June 21.

Jacob Trembley, the 12-year-old actor known for his role in the film ‘The Room’, Vera Farmiga, lead actress of the Conjuring and Bates Motel and Marton Csokas, the actor known for his roles in the films the Equalizer and Aeonflux, played as the main roles of the 102-minute film.

 The film depicts an American family in a difficult situation due to the loss of their 6-month-old daughter until they get help from a therapist. The family’s 8-year-old boy Wes (Jacob Tremblay) believes himself to be a Mongolian herder named Ganzorig mistakenly born in a different country. After he tells about it to his parents, they set on an unforgettable journey to the wide open plains of Mongolia. The filming took place in Canada and Mongolia as the main events in the film take place near the birthplace of the young boy, Jargalant soum of Khuvsgul province in Mongolia. From the side of Mongolia, actor Ts.Tserenbold and other young actors played as certain roles in the film.

The film was directed by Jordan Roberts, who is well-known for co-writing the screenplay for the animated feature film Big Hero 6.
