Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An official launching of Mongolia-Canada joint project for supporting Mongolian young hockey players took place on December 13 in the Embassy of Canada in Mongolia.

Hockey sport started developing in Mongolia from socialist period, however, the sport could not develop well due to lack of coaches, hockey rink and its clothing and apparel.

The Embassy of Canada and Mongolian Ice Hockey Federation collected hockey clothing and apparel in Canada in collaboration with entities and citizens of the two countries. The clothing and apparel collected through donation will be distributed to Mongolian hockey teams and federations, bringing them in Mongolia this month.

In the frameworks of the project for supporting Mongolian young hockey players, Hockey Days in Mongolia event will be held on February 16-19, 2019. During the event coaches led by Nate Leslie, coach of Leslie Global Sports Club of Vancouver city of Canada, will come to Mongolia to conduct training to Mongolian hockey players and coaches on ice rink.
