‘Khaan Quest – 2017’ assembles troops from 26 nations

The annual multinational peacekeeping exercise ‘Khaan Quest’ commenced on July 23 at the Five Hills Training Area.
In his opening speech, President of Mongolia, Commander-in-Chief of the Mongolian Armed Forces Mr Kh.Battulga said “Mongolia will prove itself as a full member of the international community and a peace-loving nation, reaffirming its continued support to ensuring global peace and security”.
The Mongolian Armed Forces in cooperation with the US Pacific Command initiated the ‘Khaan Quest’ as a bilateral exercise in 2003, to expand it into a multinational peacekeeping exercise in 2006. The ‘Khaan Quest’ exercise has gathered over 11 thousand peacekeepers from 51 countries of 5 continents over the past years. More than 1100 soldiers from 26 countries are taking part in the 2017 exercise which is the 11th multinational exercise.
