Ts.Elbegdorj: Mongolia hosts over again reps of Asia and Europe after 800 years
VideoPresident of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received a courtesy call from Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong who is paying an official visit to Mongolia.
The latter congratulated Mongolia on hosting ASEM summit at home and welcomed development of bilateral relations and cooperation.
The sides touched upon a wide range of issues concerning Singapore’s support of Mongolia-initiated Ulaanbaatar Dialogue, bilateral interaction within it, mutual support on the regional and international fora.
President Elbegdorj said these days Ulaanbaatar is hosting the 11th ASEM Summit and the 20 years of ASEM whereas 800 years ago, ancient capital city Kharkhorum had been gathering representatives of Asia and Europe who were arriving in Mongolia by horseback using relay stations through Silk Road.
The horse relay station used to play a role of the modern message where a new rider and new horse were waiting in every 30 km. The president said that he holds the congregation of representatives of the two continents in Mongolia after 800 years as a good omen.
