Heavy Rainfall Expected This Summer
This summer months are forecasted to have more rainfall than previous years and sudden intense rainfall in Mongolia. The Information and Research Institute of Meteorology, hydrology, and Environment of Mongolia has released its outlooks for July, August, and September 2024 and advises to be informed of the timely detailed forecast to be aware of sudden disasters, as the water level of rivers is expected to heavily rise.

Ulaanbaatar to Bloom with Over 1.5 Million Flowers
Over 1.5 million flowers of 15 varieties are planned to be planted across 99 locations in nine districts of Ulaanbaatar City this year. Today, over 150 thousand flowers have already been planted, signifying that 30 percent of the goal has been accomplished.

Protection Works Started at Lake Ugii
A working group decided some measures should be taken to protect the Lake including pulling out the large number of fishnets that were left on the bottom of Lake Ugii; improving the inward water flow Orkhon River into Lake Ugii; fencing marshy areas of Orkhon River and Khooloi River that inward to Lake Ugii and protecting them; replanning Lake Ugii shore areas to prevent from pollution by humans.

Lake Khuvsgul in Mongolia holds 74,6 percent of the freshwater resources of the country and about 0,4 percent of the world's fresh water. A survey shows that there are 28 vehicles sunken in Lake Khuvsgul.
