Transplanting of saplings from the forest banned
EnvironmentUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Ministry of Environment and
Tourism has banned transplanting saplings and young trees from the forest until
January 1, 2030.
It prohibited transplanting saplings
from the natural forest except with the approval of the Aimag and Capital City
Environment Departments from the fire protection strips and the areas of the
forest fund that planned to create protection strips for power lines and
overlap with the strategic mineral deposits.
It
aims to maintain the balance of the forest ecosystem, ensure proper use of
resources, and accommodate the average growth and rehabilitation of the forest.
