Minister of Environment and Tourism holds meeting with airline representatives

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On January 31, Minister of Environment and Tourism B.Bat-Erdene and Deputy Minister G.Tuvdendorj held a meeting with representatives of airlines that are operating in Mongolia. The meeting was held in the framework of the measures being taken to accelerate the recovery of about 1,600 entities in the tourism sector that have been affected by the pandemic. 


During the meeting, the representative of Turkish Airlines in Mongolia noted the opportunity to increase the number of flights as the airlines company has been conducting 3 flights per week since 2012, and cooperate in tourism development program by including Mongolia in the airline’s route for Europe to South East Asia while the representative of Korean Air highlighted that preparations are being carried out to increase the flights between Mongolia and South Korea by up to threefold for the summer season.

 

As for the representative of Air Busan, they expressed their wish to cooperate by exchanging information, and put forth a request to be involved in the Tourism professional council established under the Minister. 

 

In turn, Minister of Environment and Tourism B.Bat-Erdene informed the airlines’ representatives that the Ministry is open to expanding cooperation by developing specific plans for cooperation and conducting a study on the number of flights that are possible to be conducted by each airlines. Mentioning that a study is currently being done on increasing the number of flights, he highlighted that support will be provided for all aviation companies.
