President of Academy of Sciences meets Mayor of Irkutsk

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mayor of Irkutsk city Dmitry Berdnikov is paying a visit to Mongolia. President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) D.Regdel today received him with his accompanied delegation.
The MAS has been implementing several projects in collaboration with scientific institutes of Irkutsk. In particular, project on joint study on Lake Khuvsgul and Baikal started in 1960s.
Thanking for continuation of the project till now, Mayor Dmitry Berdnikov expressed readiness to make a documentary film within the framework of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of Khalkh Gol Battle, to jointly organize activities for the anniversary which will fall next year and to provide field in the Historical Museum of the city if an exhibition dedicated to the anniversary is to held in Irkutsk city.
The parties also agreed to exchange young scholars and cooperate in astronomy projects.
