Ulaanbatar /MONTSAME/ The motion illustration version of the Secret History of the Mongols-Popular Edition, presented by painter R.Battsengel, founder of the Mongoliin Nuuts Tovchoog Delkhiid Tugeey (translation: Let’s Disseminate the Secret History of the Mongols around the World) Foundation, was presented to the public on September 4. President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga attended and gave remarks at the launch ceremony.

The Secret History of the Mongols-Popular Edition, an initiation by R.Battsengel, has been published in Mongolian, English, Korean, Chinese, Hungarian, Japanese, and Russian languages, as well as traditional Mongolian script. There are 25 episodes in the motion illustration version, the production of which was based on detailed ethnic, archaeological, and historical studies.

In his remarks, President Battulga said:

“A very good day to all of you!
We are gathered here today to launch a motion illustration work that is the output of decade-long hard work of painter R.Battsengel. After having been published in seven languages, this work is now being launched in a format that is as elaborate as a book and interesting for children. This work will help us, especially teenagers, learn about and understand our own culture and heritage. I would like to congratulate project founder R.Battsengel and his colleagues.

When we look at the Secret History of the Mongols-Popular Edition, it looks as if a painter is working on a book, but there is so much more behind it. The Secret History of the Mongols doesn’t contain any image. In order to convert a written work into paintings, one must study, for instance, the design of clothes, saddle, bridle, arrowhead, and the shape of a button of that time. This work is a combination of intensive research and talent. Furthermore, the Secret History of the Mongols should be known by many people, studied by many scholars, and learnt and used by all Mongolians. Let me thank all the doctors, professors, and scholars who came here today.”
