Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Member of the Hungarian National Assembly, Head of Hungary-Mongolia Parliamentary Group László Horváth paid visit to Mongolia at the invitation of the Head of Mongolia-Hungary Parliamentary Group, MP J.Batzandan on August 31. He met with the representatives of Mongolia-Hungary Parliamentary Group at the State House.

Opening the meeting MP J.Batzandan said “The meeting aims at learning experiences of the two parliaments and expanding cooperation. I would like to highlight two things. First of all, I would like to extend my gratitude to the Government of Hungary for increasing the number of Mongolian students in Hungary. I studied in Hungary under the Government scholarship and held my doctorate in 1993. Secondly, Hungary has invested a total of USD 2.4 million to Mongolia since 1990. Specifically, it was agreed to fulfill the expansion of the Biocombinat state-owned enterprise with the USD 25 million soft loan from the Hungarian government. Mongolia is open to cooperate in all fields.”

Members of the Mongolia-Hungary Parliamentary Group emphasized that Mongolia is studying the experience of Hungarian Pension Fund and paying close attention to its Government policy.

“We, the Hungarians, consider ourselves as descendants of the Xiongnu people. Despite the fact that some are born in Mongolia and the others in Hungary, we have common things of culture. The two countries should cooperate in preservation of cultural heritage,” said Mr.  László Horváth. Moreover, he expressed Hungary’s interest in cooperating in food production and water management.
