Ulaanbaatar, December 3, 2025/MONTSAME/. During the State Visit of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to the Italian Republic, the Mongolia–Italy Business Forum was held at the “Villa Madama” Palace in Rome on December 2, 2025. The event was jointly organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA).
In his remarks at the forum, the President of the MNCCI,
Lkhagvajav Baatarjav, said: “Mongolia
has abundant resources in natural minerals, agriculture, tourism, and renewable
energy, whereas Italy has leading experience in high technology and
manufacturing. These complementary advantages form a strong foundation for
launching new projects and deepening our partnership. We are ready to hold
business meetings and forums on a regular basis and host one in Mongolia in
2026. We stand prepared to work closely with Italian organizations to connect
businesses of the two countries, support joint projects and innovation-driven
initiatives, and make such forums a regular platform. We invite our Italian
partners to explore Mongolia’s development and emerging opportunities.”
Emphasizing the forum’s importance for strengthening
bilateral business relations, the Italian side highlighted the potential for
introducing the experience and innovation of Italian companies into Mongolia’s
business sector.

The event brought together over 70 Mongolian participants
and about 80 Italian participants, including entrepreneurs, investors, and
officials from both government institutions and the private sector. They
discussed opportunities to elevate cooperation in leather and hide processing,
cashmere and wool, food production, trade, tourism, and investment to a new
level. Participants noted that the forum plays a significant role in deepening
economic ties and expanding collaboration between the two countries.

During the event, sessions were held covering key sectors
such as textiles, apparel, leather processing, agriculture, food production,
and other leading industries. Mongolia currently exports wool, cashmere,
leather, and mineral products to Italy, while importing a wide range of goods
from Italy, including food products, equipment, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and
medical supplies.
Within the framework of the Business Forum, the MNCCI and several sectoral associations signed a Memoranda of Understanding with relevant Italian organizations to advance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, manufacturing, transport and logistics, SMEs, and the wool, cashmere, and leather industries.
