New 640-Student School Building Completed in Capital City

Ulaanbaatar, November 13, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The construction of the extension building for School No. 62, designed to accommodate 640 students, located in the 19th khoroo of Songinokhairkhan District in Ulaanbaatar, has been completed and officially approved by the state commission.
The newly constructed three-story reinforced concrete school building was financed through the Capital City budget. According to the Capital City Investment Department, the school building includes classrooms, sports and arts halls, teachers’ and staff rooms, a medical room, and other functional spaces. Outdoor facilities include a sports field, pedestrian walkways, parking areas, and landscaping.
Construction work originally began in 2018 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By the order of the Minister of Education and Science, the project authority was transferred to the Governor of the Capital City. The necessary funding was allocated from the city budget, and following an open tender, MD Construction was selected as the contractor. The Capital City Investment Department served as the client’s technical supervisor during project implementation.
