Ulaanbaatar, October 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa has vetoed Resolution No.95 of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia in its entirety, according to a statement made by Uilstuguldur Altankhuyag, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office, during a press briefing at the State Palace on October 20, 2025.

The resolution to dismiss the Prime Minister of Mongolia was approved during the State Great Khural’s plenary session on October 17, 2025. A total of 71 members voted in favor of the proposal to relieve Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav of duties, securing a majority.

In his official veto, President Khurelsukh cited procedural irregularities, asserting that an incorrect voting formula had been applied during the plenary session. The President also pointed out that attendance was determined based on the roll call from Thursday, October 16, rather than being properly re-established for the Friday session when the vote occurred.

“These procedural flaws constitute a breach of the Constitution and compromise the principle of the rule of law,” the President stated in his veto message. As a result, the resolution has been annulled. The veto is now subject to review under the relevant statutory framework, added Uilstuguldur Altankhuyag, Chief of the Presidential Office.
