President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa Concludes State Visit to India

Ulaanbaatar, October 16, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa concluded his State Visit to the Republic of India and departed from Palam Airport in New Delhi, where he was seen off by Murlidhar Mohor, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation of India, and Ganbold Dambajav, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to India, on October 16, 2025.


During the State Visit, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met with President of the Republic of India Droupadi Murmu and held official talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, exchanging views on expanding and advancing the “Strategic Partnership” relations and cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.


Following the official talks, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a joint press statement and issued a Joint Declaration on strengthening the “Strategic Partnership.”


During the State Visit:

  • Mapping out future priorities and launching a new chapter in Mongolia-India relations.
  • Signing over 10 cooperation agreements across trade, economy, investment, energy, mining, information technology, culture, humanitarian affairs, youth, sports, and the arts.
  • Confirming the timely completion of the Mongolian-Indian Oil Refinery, a symbol of bilateral cooperation.
  • Agreeing to utilize third-country ports and transport corridors jointly, and to commence direct flights between Ulaanbaatar – Delhi, as well as Ulaanbaatar – Amritsar, by the end of the year.
  • Reaffirming joint efforts to promote peace and stability in regional and global arenas.
  • Mongolia’s accession to the International Solar Alliance (ISA), launched by India.
  • Advancing defense cooperation to strengthen the capabilities of Mongolia’s Armed Forces and broader protection.
  • Coordinating Mongolia’s “Billions of Trees” movement with India’s “One Tree for Mother” initiative to combat climate change.
  • Promoting best practices in sheep wool processing, carpet weaving, and textile production under Mongolia’s “White Gold” program.
  • Enhancing cooperation in raw material supply and joint production of value-added goods for global markets.
  • Increasing Mongolian student participation in India’s Government Scholarship Program by 70 under the “President’s Scholar 2100” Initiative.
  • Training 1,000 English teachers and 1,000 IT specialists, and establishing a “Mongolia-India Friendship Secondary School”.
  • India’s agreement to provide e-visas to Mongolian citizens without a fee.
  • Hosting a Mongolia-India Business Forum that laid the foundation for long-term, mutually beneficial economic collaboration.
  • Presenting the Mongolian Grand Theatre of National Art debut performance of “The Beautiful Country of Mongolia” in New Delhi.
  • Organizing a photo exhibition and a morin khuur (horse-head fiddle) showcase as part of the cultural exchange.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted an invitation to pay an official visit to Mongolia at a mutually convenient time.

The State Visit of the President of Mongolia provided a significant impetus to advancing the “Strategic Partnership” between Mongolia and India, elevating trade and economic cooperation to a new level and defining the future direction of bilateral cooperation.
