Ulaanbaatar, October 31, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Firefighting and Rescue Unit No. 10 of the Emergency Department of Chingeltei District and the Firefighting and Rescue Unit No. 63 of the Emergency Department of Bayanzurkh District have each received 42-meter aerial ladder trucks.

The delivery is part of the Phase II Project to Strengthen the Aerial Search and Rescue Unit and Supply Firefighting Vehicles, being implemented under the financial agreement between the Governments of Mongolia and the French Republic. During the first phase of the project, two 42-meter and two 32-meter aerial ladder trucks were supplied to reinforce firefighting capacity.

Under Phase II, Mongolia will receive five 42-meter and ten 32-meter aerial ladder trucks, as well as three foam fire engines. Upon completion, the availability of specialized firefighting vehicles is expected to reach 62.8 percent nationwide. The vehicles have been custom-manufactured at the request of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to suit Mongolia’s climate and operational conditions. This marks the first time that 42-meter aerial ladder trucks have been introduced to the country’s emergency services.

The first phase of the project to strengthen Mongolia’s firefighting capacity was implemented from 2019 to 2022, during which 42 specialized firefighting vehicles of four types were supplied to NEMA.
