Mongolian Draughts Players Win in Asian Team Championships 2025

Ulaanbaatar, September 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Asian Draughts Team Championships 2025 (100-square), featuring blitz and rapid formats, concluded in Tokyo, Japan, on September 7, 2025.


For the first time hosted in Japan, the competition brought together top players, including Mongolia’s team, comprising Grandmaster Ts. Sukhbat, World Draughts Federation Master E. Daariimaa, Masters of Sports N. Khangai, and B. Ermuunzayaa. The Mongolian team achieved remarkable success, securing both gold and silver medals.


In the rapid event, the team defeated Taiwan 8:0, both Japan I and II teams 8:0, Macau 7:1, Hong Kong 8:0, and overcame China with a close 5:3 score, thereby claiming the gold medal and raising the national anthem. With the overall score tied 3:3 against China, World Draughts Federation Master E. Daariimaa, playing on the second board, defeated International Master Saiya, securing the decisive points for Mongolia.


In the blitz event, the Mongolian players won against Taiwan, Macau, and both Japan I and II teams 8:0, and Hong Kong 7:1. 


Thus, the Mongolian team has returned home with two medals from the continental championship.
