Sixth meeting of National Trade Facilitation Committee held

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The sixth meeting of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC) was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, May 25.


Chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B. Munkhjin, the meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and government organizations, including the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry, Ministry of Finance, Customs General Administration, State Specialized Inspection Agency, National Development Agency, and National Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as some associations.


NTFC is responsible to ensure Mongolia’s compliance with the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and the inter-sector coordination.


At the meeting, the attendants heard information on the projects and programs being implemented by development partners in the field of trade facilitation in Mongolia. They were also provided briefings on the progress and outcomes of the EU-funded project ‘Trade Related Assistance for Mongolia (TRAM)’ and the Asian Development Bank's ‘Regional Improvement of Border Services Project’.


The International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries, together with the Mongolian Association of Freight Forwarders and freight forwarding and logistics companies, informed about the sector’s challenges and issues, which need to be addressed. At the meeting, the attendants heard this information and decided to take certain measures to regulate and resolve the issues at the level of member organizations.
