Coal Mongolia-2017 international conference launches

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/  The Coal Mongolia-2017, the 7th international conference and exhibition, opened Thursday at the Shangri-La hotel, under the theme ‘Improving structure and coordination of coal export, trade, transportation, logistics and customs and increasing efficiency of the foreign and domestic investments’.

On the sideline of the Coal Mongolia-2017, the Mongolian Coal Association and the China Coal Association are co-organizing the Mongolia-China coal business forum aimed at expanding the bilateral cooperation in the coal industry and supporting coal trade.

“Coal export of Mongolia has fallen slightly over the past few years due to a condition caused by economic crisis seen in many countries, but Mongolia's coal industry has been reviving from the end of 2016, supplying 8.0 million tons of coal to domestic need and exporting 25.8 million tons of coal. In the first seven months of this year, 21.1 million tons of coal was exported and 4.4 million tons of coal was supplied to domestic market, making the highest ever record,” said Ts.Dashdorj, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry, at the conference.

The Conference’s objectives are to attract international investment into the coal industry of Mongolia, to introduce most advanced technologies and to strengthen competitiveness of Mongolian coal sector in Asian market.

The annual conference will until Friday, holding a total of five sessions with topics about the competitiveness of coal sector and improving coal transportation, logistics and customs entry.
