Four plastic-bottle-objects are hanging now in the Entrance hall of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology. They were designed and built by 9 engineering-students of GMIT /The German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology/ and 9 design-students of the School of Fine Arts/Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture during April until September 2015.

The students of both universities worked together in several workshops: Starting from creating a common understanding of the project itself over drafting first ideas and collecting bottles until building and installing the different objects.

Each object is made out of waste plastic bottles used in our daily life. It’s almost impossible to imagine a life without plastic. Each year enough plastic bottles are thrown away to circle the earth four times – 50 % of which we used only one time. Plastic bottles shall not be considered as trash anymore, but as a basic material for shaping our living environment. Furthermore, the project supports the crucial idea of creative recycling.
